Tips on how to learn any programming language

Simple and impactful tips

There are lots of programming languages today which could be overwhelming to someone who wants to get started. I have heard some newbies say they are trying to finish learning a particular programming language back-to-back before they start getting their hands dirty.

Hey! Not sure anyone could, as all you need to do is to get started with understanding the language syntax and fundamentals and then pick a project to work on and improve on it.

My experience

After getting started with C#, many years ago, and understanding the fundamentals. I started building an Internet banking application for an imaginary bank called Bankx, focusing on transferring from one customer's account to another, aside from onboarding.

This project was without any form or pattern and, of course, no banking experience then, but I was able to further go deeper into knowing how to get something done in C#. There were frustrations, but thanks to google, friends, and mentors I could reach out to for assistance and clarifications where needed.

Summary

Irrespective of the programming language: C#, Java, Golang, Nodes, etc., the best way to get started is to pick up a project, get a firm grip on the fundamentals of the programming language of your choice, and get started and with Google on your side, you can go very far. So please note that it is a fallacy to want to finish learning a particular programming language before getting your hands dirty.
